Recreation Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Recreation Assistant to join our team at Cornell Care & Rehabilitation Center managed by Autumn Lake Healthcare at Union. As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of our residents by planning and implementing recreational programs that promote socialization, physical activity, and cognitive stimulation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute recreational activities, including arts and crafts, games, and outdoor activities
• Adapt programs to meet the changing needs and abilities of our residents
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and staff to promote a positive and supportive community
• Collaborate with other departments to provide holistic care to our residents
• Maintain accurate records and reports of recreational activities and resident participation

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or relevant certification preferred
• Prior experience in healthcare staffing and/or recreational programming is a strong plus
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and balance competing priorities
• Proficient with basic computer applications
