This is entry-level seasonal or part-time public contact work with assignments in a wide variety of areas - Recreation Center, Athletics, Tennis Center, or Watson Park. Employees receive direct supervision. Work Location: 840 N Yale St.

Examples of Work Performed

• Serves customers at concession counter.
• Receives and disburses cash.
• Prepares and handles food.
• Stocks concession products.
• Performs basic equipment maintenance.
• Supervises children, organizes and leads games and assists with class instruction.
• Officiates or keeps score for sports activities.
• Performs basic custodial duties.
• Sets up and takes down building furnishings and arrangements.
• May operate a vehicle.

Requirements of Work

• Knowledge of basic functions of arithmetic.
• Ability to count money and make change; and use a computer to access, interpret and record information.
• Ability to accept and respond to a steady volume of requests for information and/or service, both in person and over the telephone.
• Ability to lift and carry stacks of boxes or other loads weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to teach students who have a wide variety of experience and aptitude.
• Able to communicate orally clearly and effectively.
• Able to maintain effective working relationships with associates, participants and the public.
• Able to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas Driver's License.
• Not posing a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

Requirements

• Experience and Training Must be at least 16 years of age, or 18 years of age, dependent upon assignment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
• Preferred Experience And Training Some experience in a customer service or retail environment.
• Previous cash handling experience.
