Recreation Aid

About the role

As a Recreation Aid, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational programs and activities to enhance the overall well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement recreational programs and activities, such as arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and social events
• Conduct assessments to identify resident interests and abilities and develop programs accordingly
• Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that recreational programs align with resident care plans and goals
• Provide assistance with daily living activities, such as grooming, bathing, and dressing, as needed
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program evaluations
• Develop and implement special events and activities, such as holiday celebrations and theme days
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of life for our residents

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Social Work, or a related field
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of community resources and services
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
