Recovery Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Engages clients in activities at the Beacon Drop-In Center.
• Provides individual and group services focusing on social communication, coping, problem-solving, self-care, symptom management, and community integration.
• Facilitates milieu-based interventions to improve or maintain clients' functioning in various interpersonal situations.
• Edits and trains new employees on proper procedures.
• Assists with Beacon operations, including inventory and supply management.
• Restocks office, laundry/shower areas, and café.
• Coordinates with other departments to address Beacon-specific issues.
• Participates in routine safety drills and follows COVID-19 guidelines.
• Collaborates with School Field Supervisors for student/intern placements.
• Consults and partners with other departments for coordinated care.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Self-identify as a past or present consumer of mental health and/or substance abuse services.
• Willing to share a personal recovery story with clients.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
• Interest in working with individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse diagnoses.
