Responsibilities
- Engages clients in activities at the Beacon Drop-In Center.
- Provides individual and group services focusing on social communication, coping, problem-solving, self-care, symptom management, and community integration.
- Facilitates milieu-based interventions to improve or maintain clients' functioning in various interpersonal situations.
- Edits and trains new employees on proper procedures.
- Assists with Beacon operations, including inventory and supply management.
- Restocks office, laundry/shower areas, and café.
- Coordinates with other departments to address Beacon-specific issues.
- Participates in routine safety drills and follows COVID-19 guidelines.
- Collaborates with School Field Supervisors for student/intern placements.
- Consults and partners with other departments for coordinated care.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Self-identify as a past or present consumer of mental health and/or substance abuse services.
- Willing to share a personal recovery story with clients.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
- Interest in working with individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse diagnoses.
