Position Overview
Responsibilities
- Makes security/safety checks throughout shift
- Completes documentation including rounds sheets, therapeutic activities notes, and End of Shift reports
- Records patient behavior
- Ensures patient safety and utilizes trauma-informed approaches
- Assists with daily patient activities
- Recognizes and responds to signs of emotional distress, escalation, and behavioral instability
- Facilitates crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Communicates patient concerns and observations to clinical and nursing staff
- Processes patient belongings for new admissions and visitations
- Assists with orientation and visitation programs
- Supports and instructs clients in the RCA Clinical Curriculum
- Aids in transporting patients and belongings (as applicable)
- Demonstrates appropriate confidentiality and exhibits excellent customer relations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience of 1 year in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
- Proficiency with technology and familiarity with behavior modification and 12-step modalities
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record (as applicable)
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care, including 12-step principles, relapse prevention, and patient-centered recovery approaches
- Comfortable using various communication styles and adaptable to new information and changes
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
