Recovery Support Specialist

Position Overview

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient activities, performs safety checks, documents shifts including rounds sheets, therapeutic activities notes, and End of Shift reports; records patient behavior.
• Supports direct patient care, ensuring safety and applying trauma-informed approaches.
• Assists with daily patient activities, recognizes and responds to emotional distress, escalations, and behavioral instability.
• Facilitates crisis intervention and de-escalation, assists with emergency response procedures, and communicates patient concerns promptly.
• Processes patient belongings for new admissions and visits, monitors Business Center/Workflex, and assists with patient discharge belongings.
• Partners with the Clinical team for New Patient Orientation, assists with visitation programs, and aids in RCA Clinical Curriculum facilitation.
• Demonstrates understanding of recovery-oriented systems of care and maintains confidentiality.
• Exhibits excellent customer relations and problem-solving skills.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience of 1 year in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
• Proficiency with technology and familiarity with behavior modification and 12-step modalities.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record (as applicable).

• Time management skills.
