Recovery Support Specialist - AM Shift

About the role

The Recovery Support Specialist supervises patients in a therapeutic setting, facilitating deliverable services and ensuring compliance with program policies and safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient supervision in a safe, therapeutic setting.
• Utilizes and promotes the appropriate treatment model with all patients.
• Counsels and supports patients through appropriate interventions.
• Observes and documents relevant patient information and behaviors.
• Maintains communication lines between clinical, medical, culinary, administrative, and other departments.
• Ensures patients adhere to the program schedule and maintains accurate documentation.
• Supervises the transportation of patients to off-site appointments or activities.
• Conducts and documents patient checks and counts.
• Conducts routine facility checks for safety and security, including patient and property searches.
• Documents and conducts urine testing.
• Attends and participates in required staff training sessions and program meetings.
• Adheres to and promotes Phoenix House's Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Assumes lead duties for assigned shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, and registered as an Alcohol and Drug (AOD) Counselor recognized by DHCS.
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, and certified as an Alcohol and Drug (AOD) Counselor recognized by DHCS.
• Six months prior experience in a related field.
• Valid California Drivers' License, proof of automobile insurance, and a safe driving record.

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
