Recovery Support Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Assists with substance abuse counseling and recovery skills training
• Participates in inmate orientation, educational and individual and process counseling groups
• Develops and implements a comprehensive treatment plan based on inmate needs and risk assessment
• Maintains accurate and complete case reports, records, and statistics
• Compiles data and submits reports and related documentation as appropriate
• Teaches and practices complex life skills such as assertiveness, anger management, goal setting, managing criminality, and changing thinking errors
• Provides follow-up and aftercare plans for inmates prior to release and disseminates information on community resources for follow-up treatment
• Makes recovery-oriented support groups available to all inmates
• Ensures the respect of AA, NA, SOS, Celebrate Recovery, and other recovery groups
• Trains inmates to lead recovery-oriented support groups
• Promotes positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening with inappropriate behaviors
• Maintain accountability of staff, inmates, and property; adhere to safety practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Two (2) years full-time, wage-earning substance abuse treatment experience
• Valid license as a Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), or Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP)
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record

Pay

$25 per hour

Schedule

Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8-hour day schedule
