***Recovery Mentor - Community Engagement Team-Bend/Redmond***

About the role

Recovery Mentors are a critical part of the SUD Treatment Team and work with SUD clients who are attempting to engage in recovery or in early stages of recovery. The majority of clients who are assigned Recovery Mentor services are involved in our intensive outpatient/Day Treatment program; some clients may be waiting for a residential treatment bed to come open or stepping down from residential treatment into the Day Treatment program. Recovery Mentors are not counselors or clinicians but provide supports to clients that counselors are not able to offer. The Recovery Mentor works with their Supervisor to design and implement education, referral, and parent components of the program. The Recovery Mentor is responsible for helping to facilitate classes and support groups along with group activities. They will maintain a personal recovery program, if applicable, as well as model recovery-appropriate behavior.

Responsibilities

• Participates and provides recovery coaching to people involved with BestCare Treatment Services using methods: regular telephone contact (support, relapse prone, reminder calls for assessments/groups/individual sessions, outreach to missed services), client transportation (when approved) to treatment/services/appointments, detox/residential, other appointments, recovery coaching during activities, limited home visits with supervisor approval, attend sober support meetings/activities with clients, monitor and stay connected to clients in residential/detox for reengagement, take individuals/groups to 12‑Step meetings/clean and sober activities, provide case management services including referrals (food bank, primary care, education, housing, etc.), assist prep/clean‑up for evening groups, provide individual, couples, and family support, help clinicians in groups (office, jail, etc.), provide back‑up in groups and treatment activities, help clients develop non‑using recovery activities, maintain case notes of client contact within EHR timelines, assist SUD team with UA drug testing if needed, complete attendance sheets, required report forms, report client participation to supervisor, perform other related duties as assigned.
• Perform work aligned with BestCare’s mission, vision, values; support diversity, equity, inclusion; strive to meet program/department goals and organizational strategic goals; adhere to Code of Conduct, Business Ethics, Employee Handbook, policies; maintain professionalism and confidentiality per HIPAA, 42 CFR, Oregon Statutes; attend required program/staff meetings and complete training; keep certifications/licenses current; work independently and as collaborative team member; perform other organizational duties as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Personal lived experience with Substance Use Disorder
• Maintained continuous recovery for the previous two (2) years at time of hire
• CRM‑I certification or eligibility/commitment to obtain within 6 months of hiring
• PSS or other THW certification or ability/commitment to obtain within 6 months of hiring
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability/commitment to obtain within 60 days of hiring
• Valid Oregon Driver License (or ability to obtain upon hire) and be insurable under organization’s auto liability coverage (minimum 21 years of age, no Type A violations past 3 years, or three or more Type B violations)
• Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish
• Preferred: Previous training, experience, or knowledge of treatment in the disease of addiction

Pay

$18.00‑$23.62 per hour
