About the role

The Recovery Coach at Voices of Hope supports individuals in or seeking recovery from substance use disorders through peer-based coaching, resource navigation, advocacy, education, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one peer support and assist participants in developing personalized recovery plans.
  • Offer encouragement, motivation, and accountability to participants.
  • Connect participants with community resources and support groups.
  • Advocate for participants within various systems to ensure they receive necessary support.
  • Empower participants to take control of their recovery and make informed decisions.
  • Provide education on recovery concepts and conduct workshops.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor and other recovery coaches to provide comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on participant outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • Stay updated with local recovery community events and trends.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Lived experience with substance use recovery (highly preferred).
  • Additional certifications in peer support or recovery coaching (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Understanding of substance use disorders, recovery principles, and available community resources.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Pass I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Pass background check (prior convictions may not necessarily disqualify an applicant).
  • If position requires transporting participants or driving a company vehicle: Valid Kentucky driver's license with no health problems that limit or restrict driver's licensing.
  • Minimum of five years driving experience with no more than two at-fault accidents or six or more deficiency points in the past three years.
  • Submit a Motor Vehicle Release Form.

Pay

17.52-17.52 Hourly Wage

Schedule

Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
