Recovery Assistant

About the role

The Recovery Assistant is a frontline position responsible for supporting clients in a safe, respectful, and recovery focused social detox environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring client safety and well being
• Assisting with daily activities and groups
• Maintaining a clean and orderly environment
• Completing accurate documentation
• Communicating client needs or concerns to supervisors and staff

Qualifications

• Understands and uses respectful, person centered and trauma informed approaches when working with clients
• Able to complete basic documentation, follow program procedures, and use a computer for notes and communication
• Reliable, honest, and able to work well with clients and other staff. Able to take direction and work as part of a team
• Able to work assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic understanding of recovery is preferred. Personal experience with recovery is valued but not required
• Must be able to meet organizational requirements, including required background checks and safety policies

The ability to take direction, accept redirection and feedback, work as part of a team, and respond calmly and respectfully to challenging situations is essential.
