About the role
The Recovery Assistant is a frontline position responsible for supporting clients in a safe, respectful, and recovery focused social detox environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring client safety and well being
- Assisting with daily activities and groups
- Maintaining a clean and orderly environment
- Completing accurate documentation
- Communicating client needs or concerns to supervisors and staff
Qualifications
- Understands and uses respectful, person centered and trauma informed approaches when working with clients
- Able to complete basic documentation, follow program procedures, and use a computer for notes and communication
- Reliable, honest, and able to work well with clients and other staff. Able to take direction and work as part of a team
- Able to work assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic understanding of recovery is preferred. Personal experience with recovery is valued but not required
- Must be able to meet organizational requirements, including required background checks and safety policies
Expected behaviors
The Recovery Assistant is expected to demonstrate reliability, accountability, transparency, professionalism, and appropriate boundaries while consistently following program policies, procedures, and principles. The ability to take direction, accept redirection and feedback, work as part of a team, and respond calmly and respectfully to challenging situations is essential.
