Reconciliation Analyst (contract)

About the role
We are seeking a Reconciliation Analyst to join the Office of the CFO, supporting critical broker-dealer regulatory reporting and reconciliation activities. This role will focus on performing daily SEC Rule 15c3-3 Customer Reserve calculations, 15c3-1 Net Capital computations, and supporting FOCUS reporting while ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance. This is a 3-month contract with the potential for extension or conversion, located in Jersey City, NJ, requiring 4 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing daily SEC Rule 15c3-3 Customer Reserve calculations, 15c3-1 Net Capital computations, and support FOCUS reporting activities by consolidating and validating financial data.
- Extract, consolidate, and analyze large datasets using advanced Excel functions to ensure reporting accuracy, identify trends, and investigate variances.
- Perform detailed reconciliation research to identify discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, recommend solutions, and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Learn existing regulatory reporting processes and develop detailed desktop procedures during the first 90 days to support knowledge sharing and process consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows through automation and improved processes.
- Support reconciliation testing, validate reporting outputs, and ensure regulatory reporting processes remain accurate and compliant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related financial discipline.
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, or accounting operations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and working with large datasets.
- Understanding of reconciliation concepts and financial data validation.
- Experience performing root cause analysis and recommending solutions for data discrepancies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with broker-dealer or bank regulatory reporting.
- Exposure to SEC Rule 15c3-3, 15c3-1 Net Capital, or FOCUS reporting.
- Experience with Alteryx, Power BI, or AI-driven process automation tools.
- Knowledge of process improvement initiatives and reporting workflow optimization.
- Experience documenting procedures and supporting operational best practices.

Pay
Pay Rate Range: 41.6 - 52 USD hourly
