Recommendations for a custom metal fabricator / staircase contractor (UWS)?

We are currently doing a major apartment renovation on the Upper West Side (UWS) and are seeking recommendations for a custom metal fabricator or specialized railing contractor.

About the role

We need a contractor to replace the wire mesh infill of an existing stainless steel staircase with a 10-cable horizontal system. The work must be completed in-place, as the staircase cannot be dismantled.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work on-site, including drilling, tapping, and fitting
• Retain and utilize existing welded tabs where possible (as scoped by a previous contractor)
• Install a 10-cable horizontal system as the new infill
• Ensure the work is completed in a construction zone environment (noise and dust are not concerns)

Requirements

• Experience with custom metal fabrication, particularly staircases and railings
• Ability to work in-place without dismantling the existing structure
• Proficiency in on-site drilling, tapping, and fitting
• Familiarity with stainless steel and cable railing systems
