About the role
The Receptionist is responsible for answering and transferring all incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner, providing information, direction, and assistance to residents, staff, guests, and vendors, and performing various clerical duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the reception desk, securing all files, keys, and equipment in the office area.
- Communicate promptly and clearly all messages and material directed to appropriate parties through the business office.
- Accept and record payments, reservations, appointments, cancellations, and similar transactions as directed.
- Greet all visitors (residents, staff, guests, vendors) courteously, providing information, guidance, or assistance to present the best possible image of the community.
- Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements
- High school graduate preferred.
- Ability to communicate efficiently in English using proper grammar in a pleasant manner.
- Typing and experience with business machines is desirable.
- Must handle multiple routine tasks, following specific and general instructions carefully.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
- Minimal physical effort; 75% of the workday is spent sitting, standing intermittently, and bending.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Requires manual coordination to operate switchboard, computer, and other business equipment.
- Requires continuous mental and visual attention to diversified operations.
- Must function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions.
- Communicates orally and/or in writing with residents, coworkers, families, and the public.
Schedule
- 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with occasional 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM shifts.
- Every other weekend required.
