About the role
The receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for everyone entering the facility. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering telephones and directing calls to appropriate party, and assisting with general administrative support functions of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome visitors, clients, and employees as soon as they arrive at the facility.
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls.
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable.
- Receive, sort and distribute mail and/or deliveries.
- Maintain office and facility security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges).
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing.
- Accurately observe and document client behaviors, and responses to interventions.
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or changes in client status immediately to supervisory/leadership staff.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and agency policies.
- Follows all Pennsylvania mandated reporter requirements.
- Maintains active certification, clearances, and required ongoing training.
- Complies with program/facility safety systems and building security.
- Supports the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.
- Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and minimum one (1) year office related experience.
- At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Pass physical exams that include TB and drug testing.
- Pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
- Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or GED and minimum one (1) year office related experience.
- Other Qualifications: At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
