Responsibilities
- Helping to get patients into the office
- Connecting with patients on the phone or in person
- Greeting patients and guests in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner
- Modeling company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices
- Supporting the PPE process by helping to get patients to come into the office and continuing the connection once they are there
- Scheduling appointments that ensure healthcare providers have a smooth, productive day
- Interacting and communicating with patients and guests in the reception area during their wait time
- Answering telephones efficiently and thoroughly
- Ensuring all tasks on the front office checklist are completed daily
- Posting payments to patient accounts in accordance with Company policies
- Being a Subject Matter Expert in the practice management system, ensuring account information is accurate and up-to-date for each visit
- Efficiently handling patient check-in, obtaining all necessary consents, and promptly notifying the back-office team
- Confirming all patient appointments in accordance with office confirmation policies or at least 2 days in advance
- Returning and resolving patient messages received from the Contact Center in a timely manner
- Participating actively in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings
- Demonstrating stewardship of the PDS Brand by making decisions consistent with the framework
- Becoming knowledgeable about patient education regarding the Mouth-Body Connection
- Maintaining an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies
- Ensuring compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal, and other regulatory bodies
- Managing tasks and time effectively without compromising the quality of the work
- Handling and maintaining extreme confidentiality with patient records
- Working in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Prior course work or on-the-job training in the fields of dentistry, insurance, or business preferred
- Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurances
