Receptionist
About the role
The Receptionist role supports a busy reception desk in Huntsville, Alabama and serves as the primary point of contact for customers, guests, contractors, and visitors entering the facility.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in customers, guests, contractors, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Create and issue photo ID and access control badges for contractors and visitors, following established security procedures.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and transfer calls to the appropriate employees.
- Absorb and assist with conference room scheduling to support meetings and events within the facility.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to onsite teams as needed.
- Collaborate with onsite facilities and operations roles, including the FM team, by assisting with assigned tasks.
- Submit tickets for facility-related issues and building maintenance using Corrigo or similar systems.
- Maintain an up-to-date building contact list for key personnel and their locations.
- Update and maintain the Concierge Playbook for the site, ensuring a current version is readily available at the reception desk.
- Perform all other duties and tasks assigned to support smooth front desk and facility operations.
- Demonstrate flexibility with responsibilities and working hours to meet changing business needs.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience as a Receptionist or Administrative Assistant in a front desk or customer-facing setting.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Professional experience working in a busy front desk environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, busy, and quickly changing environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on creating a positive experience for visitors and staff.
- Professional communication skills, both in person and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Positive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
- Ability to sit for long periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Proficiency with desktop computing platforms (PC) and applications such as MS Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree or college coursework is preferred.
- Previous experience in a very busy front desk setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with facility ticketing systems such as Corrigo is beneficial.
Work Environment
This is a contract position lasting approximately 8–10 weeks to cover short-term leave. The standard shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility to work overtime when needed based on business requirements. The role is based at a busy facility reception desk and involves continuous interaction with visitors, staff, and contractors in a fast-paced environment. Work is primarily performed seated at a desk, with some walking, stair climbing, and light lifting up to 25 pounds. The position uses PC-based desktop computing, including MS Office Suite and Microsoft Teams, as well as facility maintenance and ticketing systems such as Corrigo. A professional appearance and demeanor are expected at all times to reflect the organization’s standards and provide a welcoming experience for all guests.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
