Job Summary

The Receiving Attendant is responsible for receiving, inspecting, documenting, storing, and distributing goods and supplies. This position ensures all deliveries are accurate, properly stored, and recorded while maintaining organized inventory and storage areas. The Receiving Attendant supports operational efficiency by ensuring products are available and handled according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality, quantity, and condition.
  • Verify received items against packing slips, invoices, and delivery documentation.
  • Report shortages, overages, damaged goods, or discrepancies to management.
  • Ensure all received products meet organizational quality standards.
  • Accurately document and record deliveries in inventory or receiving systems.
  • Store products properly according to company and safety standards.
  • Rotate inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures where applicable.
  • Auxiliary with routine inventory counts and audits.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and tracking documentation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and secure storage areas, receiving docks, coolers, and freezers.
  • Label and store products in designated inventory locations.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for food, beverage, and supply items.
  • Assist with distributing inventory and supplies to departments as needed.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Safely operate carts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Report safety concerns, damaged equipment, and workplace hazards promptly.
  • Comply with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain receiving logs, inventory records, invoices, and related documentation.
  • Auxiliary with invoice verification and filing.
  • Prepare inventory and receiving reports as requested.
  • Support internal audits and inventory reviews.

Qualifications

  • Previous receiving, inventory, warehouse, hospitality, food service, or storeroom experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control practices.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in warehouse, receiving dock, hospitality, food service, healthcare, or event venue environment.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, including refrigerated and freezer storage areas.
  • Regular interaction with delivery personnel and operational staff.
  • May require early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday work depending on delivery schedules.
