About the role

GEMCO Medical, a well-established and growing healthcare distribution company shipping over 15,000 packages a day with detailed accuracy, has an immediate opening for a Receiving Warehouse Associate. This role includes shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and facility maintenance services in a fully air-conditioned (summer) and heated (winter) warehouse. The environment is clean, bright, and does not require protective clothing—comfortable attire such as sneakers, t-shirts, and jeans is acceptable.

Schedule

  • Full-time: Monday through Friday, 12:15 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (with shift differential)

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload freight to common and containerized carriers
  • Verify shipments of all packed stock
  • Record amounts of materials received
  • Pick and pack stock using best practices and following company standards
  • Prepare shipment labels for delivery via UPS, USPS, and other common carriers
  • Store, sort, and place received stock on racks, shelves, or in bins according to the locator system
  • Prepare parcels for general mailing
  • Weigh and count items for distribution
  • Perform general cleaning functions (e.g., sweeping, dusting, mopping) in restrooms and warehouse areas
  • May be assigned facility maintenance duties as needed

Requirements

  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in warehouse operations
  • Willingness to accept responsibility and work in a multi-task environment as part of a team
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Requires recognition of products by code, packaging, and description
  • General math, computer, and reading comprehension skills
  • “Reach” truck experience a plus
  • Forklift experience preferred
