About the role
The Receiving Technician is responsible for the receipt and processing of incoming stock and materials into the warehouse. This includes the verification and documentation of shipments, organizing inventory, and ensuring products are stocked in their correct locations. Strict adherence to the Company policy and procedure manual including state and federal laws.
Responsibilities
- Verify and document shipments, ensuring all items on the packing list were delivered and counts are correct.
- Correctly document items not received or damaged upon delivery and report those items to Management according to company policy.
- Rotate stock as needed or directed by Management.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts as directed by Management.
- Assemble select stock equipment so it is readily available for delivery or discharges.
- Operate lift truck or use a hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Participate in Improvement of Operational Performance (IOP) activities.
- Participate in traditional and e-learning (VGM U) programs.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Work effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments.
- Perform all job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months industry related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient ability and practical knowledge of computers, software, and products applicable to the industry.
- Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of departmental program structure (Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements) and department policies and procedures.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
- Effective time management skills while working independently with minimal supervision.

- Proficient ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Proficient ability to understand, interpret, and apply complex mathematical instruction and information.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster professional working relationships organization-wide.
