Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and organize donations such as clothing, furniture, and other household items.
- Fill trailers with donations, ensuring items are stacked and secured to maximize space and efficiency.
- Auxiliary drivers on routes for donation pick-ups, helping to load and secure items.
- Maintain organized inventory by categorizing and placing items in designated areas.
- Support overall thrift store operations by promptly responding to demands and requests.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and productive work processes.
- Take direction well and complete tasks accurately to support overall team goals.
- Work comfortably in various weather conditions as needed for loading and unloading tasks.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Ability to work in a busy and fast-paced environment, maintaining a steady pace throughout shifts.
- Team-oriented attitude with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Reliable and able to take direction well from supervisors and team leaders.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and carry it for short distances.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Visual acuity to read road signs, maps, and operating instructions.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling bags and boxes.
- Strong back and abdominal muscles to maintain proper posture while lifting heavy objects.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Good hearing to detect warning signals and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
