About the role
This position manages our large parts inventory, including receiving materials, managing materials inventory, and material transfers to other branches. The role performs cycle counts, manages parts re-ordering, purchases parts as necessary, creates and fulfills customer parts orders, and manages the parts inventory in Minneapolis.
Responsibilities
- Manages Minneapolis-Tioga, Ameri-Cool, and MAPR perpetual inventory.
- Manages receiving process: opens boxes, inspects shipments, verifies packing slips against purchase orders, disperses or stocks parts, documents discrepancies, and transacts receipts in INFOR (inventory system).
- Supports customer parts orders: generates orders from requests, fulfills and packages orders, places P.O.’s for specialty parts not in inventory, and transacts orders in INFOR.
- Documents defective or incorrect items and supports the Purchasing Manager in the return process.
- Manages perpetual inventory: puts materials away, performs cycle-counting, ensures inventory accuracy, maintains stocking levels, and keeps the stockroom organized.
- Conducts visual reviews of inventory and assists in P.O. creation for replenishment.
- Manages the part transfer process to support repairs of equipment in MAPR branches and in the field, including processing transfer requests, system transactions in INFOR, and shipping materials (e.g., UPS).
- Manages the cycle count process: performs cycle counting, resolves discrepancies with the controller, and oversees the annual year-end inventory process.
- Supports production builds by pulling Bill of Material purchase parts and issuing them to production orders.
- Performs any other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Inventory Management and receiving materials in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Able to lift 75 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds consistently.
- 3 years of demonstrated experience in an ERP system (preferably INFOR) in purchasing or inventory management modules.
- Strong interpersonal skills with clear and effective communication.
- Capable of operating forklifts and other equipment to move heavy shipments.
- Awareness of proper warehouse and factory safety procedures.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
