Duties/Responsibilities
- Critical member of the logistics and quality control team.
- Responsible for the efficient and accurate intake of all incoming freight, with a specific focus on verifying documentation and ensuring the correct parts are received for the refurbishing of trucks and other defense products.
- Receive and inspect all incoming freight from carriers.
- Verify all shipping and delivery documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and purchase orders, to ensure they are accurate and complete.
- Check for discrepancies between physical goods and the corresponding paperwork and report any issues immediately to the appropriate supervisor or purchasing department.
- Sign for deliveries and maintain a precise log of all received shipments.
- Unload trucks and deliveries using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- Physically inspect all received parts and components to ensure they are the correct items ordered for the refurbishing of trucks.
- Conduct a quality check for any visible damage, defects, or shortages.
- Segregate and quarantine any damaged or incorrect items and follow established procedures for processing returns or reporting issues to the supplier.
- Accurately record all received goods into the company's inventory management system.
- Apply correct labels and tags to materials and parts for proper storage and tracking.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, purchasing) to ensure received parts are delivered to the correct staging areas for the refurbishment process.
- Assist with regular inventory counts and audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Any other task as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory software/data entry.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, such as parts lists and invoices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as a forklift, safely and in compliance with company and OSHA regulations (certification may be required or provided).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock and work area.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols.
- Role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with drivers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Comfortable with standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a receiving clerk, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
