Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying quantity, lot numbers, and quality against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage, nonconformance, or discrepancies and report any issues to Purchasing or Quality.
- Sample parts for Quality team testing as required.
- Record received items promptly and accurately in the ERP or inventory management system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Ensure all materials are properly labeled with part numbers, batch/lot codes, and storage locations.
- Route materials to appropriate storage areas, production lines, or staging zones.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe receiving and storage areas to support lean and 5S practices.
- Prepare and process returns, RMA shipments, and freight claims for defective or incorrect materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently; perform daily equipment inspections.
- Absorb and communicate proactively with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Quality regarding delivery schedules, shortages, and delays.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow, documentation accuracy, and receiving processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or logistics coursework preferred.
- 1–3 years of receiving or warehouse experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite, or similar).
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Broad range of computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S workplace organization preferred.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems or GMP documentation practices preferred.
- Prior experience in handling raw materials, chemicals, or sensitive components preferred.
