About the role
Bartelt Packaging is seeking a dependable and organized Receiving Clerk to process incoming shipments and maintain accurate receiving records within our manufacturing facility. This position verifies freight against purchase orders, loads and unloads deliveries, inspects materials for damage or shortages, labels parts using the ERP system, and distributes materials to the appropriate departments.
Responsibilities
- Process all incoming freight in a timely manner, verifying according to purchase order numbers from the Purchasing Department.
- Load and unload freight carriers; operate powered industrial trucks such as a forklift or use hand trucks to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage or work areas.
- Check that incoming parts have the correct coating, if applicable; label each part with the correct part number from the Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERPS) and send to the Production Department, Shipping Department, or Paint Shop.
- Assist vendors in pick-up of returned items.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and record shortages; route or deliver items to applicable departments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of receiving/warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping and receiving documents.
- Experience with ERP/MRP or inventory systems preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse operations.
- Forklift experience or certification preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
