Your responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace.
  • Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Operate and navigate various Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including Dock Stocker, Reach Truck, and scissor lift, ensuring safe and efficient material movement.
  • Prepares items for shipment according to plant/customer requirements.
  • Completes all paperwork related to shipments and receipts, ensuring that all required documentation is present, and counts are accurate.
  • Processes shipping transactions in SAP, including returns, receipts, and due lists, while ensuring all material is accurately documented and inventory levels are updated.
  • Operates RF scanners for inventory transactions and to process goods efficiently into the system.
  • Properly stores materials or prepares shipments according to established procedures.
  • Ensures all labels on containers match material descriptions, verifying them against the packing slip and SAP.
  • Aids with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring trailer wheels are checked and safe before loading.
  • Ensures that the Bill of Lading (BOL) matches the freight being delivered and notates any damage on the BOL/Delivery Receipt.
  • Takes the unloaded freight to storage and processes for future use or shipment.
  • Maintains operational productivity and accuracy in receiving and shipment activities as a BLC Operator I.
  • Maintains open transfer orders and resolves issues in alignment with goals and HPWS Level standards.
  • Completes TO generation, put-away tasks, and loading/unloading activities in alignment with expected productivity percentages.
  • Maintains Receiving Exception Logs and error logs as required to track and address issues.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and efficient work area by following the principles of 6S and demonstrating optimal workplace standards.
  • Identifies and adheres to the work area’s Optimal State document(s), ensuring compliance with safety and operational expectations.
  • Completes 100% of required monthly safety training on time, applying learned principles to daily work.
  • Exhibits Plant Hamilton core values including accountability, teamwork, and leadership in all tasks and interactions.
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to work overtime when needed, including occasional Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Fosters a positive work environment by demonstrating motivation, teamwork, and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your profile

  • Previous basic forklift experience with ability to obtain a license and operate various forklifts (order filler, stand-up reach, scissor lift) preferred.
  • Possesses a stable work history and a strong personal desire to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Demonstrates a strong customer focus along with a great work ethic and willingness to do what needs to be done.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic math, including working with decimals, and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and improve one’s skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to meeting and exceeding customer requirements at all times.
  • Must be able to work required overtime that can be substantial during peak customer production periods.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 40 lbs.) with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and ability to perform detailed work with a strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Gains satisfaction from team accomplishments and takes pride in one’s contributions.
  • Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.

  • Proven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers.
  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. and be able to read, write, and speak in English.
