About the role
Oversee the receiving dock area to receive, inspect, identify, count, and verify the quality and labeling of all materials and supplies delivered to the facility. Complete related documentation, coordinate the storage of supplies, and enter information into the inventory database. Ensure the efficient flow of product through the production process while maintaining safety regulations and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies, and procedures per company guidelines. Report any unsafe conditions or acts immediately.
- Review work schedule, perform safety checks on equipment, obtain necessary supplies, and prepare for operations.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
- Meet productivity and accuracy standards as outlined by location and company guidelines.
- Open loading dock doors, set dock plates, and prepare the area to receive products and supplies from tractor-trailers.
- Inspect incoming trailers to ensure they meet company quality standards and take appropriate action if needed.
- Receive incoming products and supplies, verify items against the bill of lading, and ensure count accuracy. Record counts on appropriate forms or in the database.
- Verify the quality and labeling of all materials and supplies received.
- Perform damage control checks on received items and report issues according to company policy.
- Inspect date-sensitive items, perform temperature and quality checks, and take appropriate action as needed.
- Identify, label, and store supplies according to specifications and enter purchase order data into the inventory system.
- Coordinate and/or unload and transport items to staging areas using a forklift or pallet jack. Assist forklift operators as needed.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the warehouse, loading dock, and trailers clean and clear.
- Remove and replace batteries requiring recharging and complete vehicle inspection checklists.
- Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 6–12 months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience.
- Ability to work scheduled, assigned times and required overtime.
- Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Able to lift and stack products between 10–35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
- Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, and dry).
- Pass a pre-employment drug test.
