Overall Job Summary
The TM Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, maximizing store sales, and interacting with customers and Team Members to deliver a Legendary Customer Experience. The role involves managing inbound and outbound freight, recovering merchandise, and operating various equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts, varying hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet the Customer, Uncover Customer’s Needs & Wants, Recommend Product Solutions, Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
- Perform a combination of duties including processing inbound and outbound freight, maintaining inventory control, recovery of merchandise, participating in mandatory freight processes, keeping work areas clean and organized, stocking and tagging assigned areas, operating cash register/computer, ensuring customer shopping experience, rotating and disposing of dated products, assembling merchandise, operating forklift and cardboard baler, and caring for birds.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Shipping/receiving experience preferred but not required. Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred. Must be 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Must be able to read, write, and count accurately.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Basic computer skills/experience, basic math skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
Working Conditions
Favorable working environment, generally indoors with moderate noise. Work shifts vary from 4 to 8 hours, typically no less than 4 hours. Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces with adequate lighting and temperature. Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Non-sedentary position requiring physical and mental stamina to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely. Must have the physical and mental ability to operate a forklift, push/pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds, lift up to 50 pounds, stand/kneel/twist/crouch/squat/bend/stoop/climb ladders, and move throughout the store for an entire shift. Ability to read/write/count accurately, communicate effectively, process information/merchandise through POS system, handle and be in contact with birds/poultry, and successfully complete required training and certification.
