Overall Job Summary
The TM Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, maximizing store sales, and interacting with customers and Team Members to deliver a Legendary Customer Experience. The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and service orientation, with a focus on safety and productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts, varying hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet the Customer, Uncover Needs & Wants, Recommend Product Solutions, Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
- Process inbound and outbound freight.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and adhere to loss prevention standards.
- Recover merchandise.
- Participate in mandatory freight processes.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Stock and tag assigned work areas, including outside display areas.
- Operate cash register/computer following company procedures.
- Ensure customers have a Legendary shopping experience.
- Rotate and dispose of dated products.
- Assemble merchandise.
- Operate Forklift and Cardboard Baler.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of birds. Sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks and care for birds as required.
- Complete all documentation related to job duties.
- Obtain necessary licenses/certifications as required by the business.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Shipping/receiving experience preferred but not required. Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Must be able to read, write, and count accurately.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
- Basic computer skills/experience.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
Working Conditions
- Generally works inside with moderate noise.
- Work shifts vary from one store to another, typically no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
- Indoor floors and outdoor lots are generally hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.), with adequate lighting and temperature.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers, adhering to Company safety training and guidelines.
Physical Requirements
- Non-sedentary position.
- Requires physical and mental stamina and ability to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
- Must have the physical and mental ability to perform all tasks (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Operate a forklift.
- Operate and use all equipment necessary to run a store (e.g., dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register).
- Push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with assistance.
- Lift and reach merchandise overhead.
- Move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
- Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
- Move throughout the store for an entire shift.
- Access all areas of the store including selling floor, side lot, stock area, and register area.
- Operate store equipment such as computer, cash register, and other store equipment.
- Read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Process information/merchandise through the point-of-sale system.
- Handle and be in contact with birds/poultry.
- Successfully complete training and certification to dispense propane, and to dispense propane (if applicable).
