Receiver

About the role

The Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market is the gatekeeper for many of our products that are brought to the store from our vendors. This role requires a high level of attention to detail as you will be responsible for receiving all products for the store.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products for temperature (if perishable), shortages, overages, and damages
• Use basic mathematical operations and organization skills to properly manage backroom storage
• Handle all functions and paperwork relating to receiving duties
• Work independently while maintaining effective communication with the store team and third-party vendors
• Receive all product for the store, inspecting it for quality and accuracy
• Communicate knowledgeably with service vendors
• Perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Use basic computer knowledge
• Move/transfer products weighing up to 60 lbs., from 5” to 56”, for up to 30 feet for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance
• Use a pallet jack to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs., for a distance up to 15 feet for up to 40 hours
• Review invoices and monitor incoming product
• Maintain courteous relationships with drivers and vendors
• Follow Sprouts standards for receiving practices and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures
• Adhere to safe work practices

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years receiving experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Understanding of proper retail receiving practices
• Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product
