Receiver
About the role
The Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market is the gatekeeper for many of our products that are brought to the store from our vendors. This role requires a high level of attention to detail as you will be responsible for receiving all products for the store.
Responsibilities
- Inspect products for temperature (if perishable), shortages, overages, and damages
- Use basic mathematical operations and organization skills to properly manage backroom storage
- Handle all functions and paperwork relating to receiving duties
- Work independently while maintaining effective communication with the store team and third-party vendors
- Receive all product for the store, inspecting it for quality and accuracy
- Communicate knowledgeably with service vendors
- Perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Use basic computer knowledge
- Move/transfer products weighing up to 60 lbs., from 5” to 56”, for up to 30 feet for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance
- Use a pallet jack to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs., for a distance up to 15 feet for up to 40 hours
- Review invoices and monitor incoming product
- Maintain courteous relationships with drivers and vendors
- Follow Sprouts standards for receiving practices and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures
- Adhere to safe work practices
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years receiving experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Understanding of proper retail receiving practices
- Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product
