About the Role
The Warehouse Receiver ensures new and returned product is received, inspected, and prepared for resale while managing the inbound flow of the dock.
Responsibilities
- Examine condition of product as it arrives from various carriers.
- Document overages, shortages, damages, expiration dates, product temperature, trailer condition, evidence of pest infestation, or product tampering.
- Direct outside carriers and contract unloaders on how to sort and segregate product.
- Follow and maintain product integrity per company standards.
- Print pallet labels, enter purchase orders into the computer, and assign doors.
- Cover for Receiving Clerk as needed.
- Comply with company work and safety rules.
- Meet assigned production standards.
- Maintain a quality of work that limits mispicks, shortages, and damages.
- Follow directions and work independently or in a team environment.
- Be trained and certified to operate required equipment within 30 days of hire.
- Comply with company attendance policy.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet Distribution Center needs, including early shifts, late shifts, and weekend work.
- Work in temperature conditions ranging from 38°F to 110°F.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp, and reach above the head continuously for two hours or more.
- Select, load, unload, and deliver all products ordered by customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous receiving experience is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English to perform job-related tasks safely and effectively, including work instructions, safety protocols, and communications.
