Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is $24.50 per hour–$26.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Place and receive orders from purveyors.
• Maintain accurate inventory to the highest standards for organization, cleanliness, and safety.
• Verify and keep accurate records on incoming orders.
• Receive, lift, move, store, issue, count, sort, weigh, and verify items on requisitions or invoices.
• Process a wide variety of incoming freight, including produce, meats, dairy, dry goods, chemicals, and other materials daily and according to priority.
• Compare incoming products to bills of invoices, orders, or other records to verify information.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with vendors to rectify damages and shortages.
• Order products using the Net Menu Platform and rotate stock to ensure freshness.
• Prepare product for distribution, including transportation and storage.
• Return damaged items or other items to vendors that do not meet specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of storage areas by sweeping and mopping.
• Comply with all HACCP/OSHA and/or local policies and procedures related to assigned work.
• Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
• Drive company van and make deliveries.
• Build relationships with delivery vendors.

• Previous food-receiving experience is a plus.
• Current Food Handler card or ability to be certified immediately after hire.
• Current Driver’s License and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to safely drive an 18' panel van.
• Willingness and ability to learn how to safely operate a forklift.

• Produce, meat, and seafood product knowledge.
• Knowledge of MSDS and correct chemical handling.
• Ability to assist other team members and staff as required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Work up to 8 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Adherence to dress code and professional appearance.
• Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
• Ability to remove garbage and transport to dumpster areas.
• Proper lifting skills when handling stock.
• Ability to load and push a cart long distances.
