About the Role
The Receiver will be responsible for receiving all incoming shipments in the grocery department and ensuring merchandise is not defected or damaged.
Responsibilities
- Receive shipments, examine and inspect all products for quality.
- Fill orders by stocking items from the warehouse and stock shelves as needed with product from the warehouse.
- Work with management team to coordinate and facilitate shipment placement.
- Document all overages, damages, and shortages.
- Communicate with truck delivery drivers on specific location for proper and safe delivery.
- Respond promptly and courteously to customer needs.
- Operate power equipment to move heavy material like fork trucks and/or pallet jacks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year experience in working receiving.
- Grocery retail background preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
Physical Demands
The physical demands and work conditions below represent those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Some requirements may be modified to accommodate individuals with disabilities:
- Walking: Continuously, throughout the day, while moving about the store and obtaining product from the warehouse.
- Standing: Continuously, throughout the shift while stocking and facing product.
- Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
Pay
Pay range: $19.65 to $22.46 per hour. Within this range, individual pay is determined by factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and/or training.
