About the role
Nucor Rebar Fabrication Southwest is a division of Nucor, North America's largest steel and steel products manufacturer. The purpose of this role is to ensure safety is the most important aspect of all jobs within Nucor. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Responsibilities
- Bend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer orders.
- Work with a mentor to learn how to safely use all machinery.
- Work in an outdoor environment, which may involve some heavy lifting.
- Be able to work overtime when required.
- Able to read and comprehend basic safety and operational instructions.
- Able to perform basic math for accurate bar measurements.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be age 18 or over.
- This is a safety-sensitive position, so you must pass a drug test, including THC.

Skills
Previous work in construction and landscaping is a huge plus; candidates with previous trades experience tend to be successful in the role and may have a significant opportunity for advancement within the organization.
