Rebar Fabrication Project Manager

About the role

Suncoast Post Tension, Ltd. is an established post-tension and rebar manufacturing company with over 30 years in business, supplying construction materials from nine US facilities. We are seeking an experienced Rebar Project Manager to join our team in Austin, offering the opportunity to be a senior member of our Engineering Department and influence the business significantly.

The Rebar Project Manager produces accurate rebar detailing and fabrication documents while managing all project deliverables for concrete reinforcing steel projects. This role oversees projects from award through closeout, ensuring rebar is detailed, fabricated, delivered, and installed according to structural specifications, schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical proficiency in AutoCAD and RebarCAD with hands-on project management experience in concrete reinforcing operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage all project deliverables from pre-construction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules.
• Manage cost control, supply, and administration of various-sized concrete reinforcing projects using industry-standard technologies such as AutoCAD and RebarCAD.
• Detail and fabricate rebar per structural specifications.
• Identify risks and proactively resolve issues related to scope, schedule, constructability, or field coordination service delays.
• Utilize provided tools to detail smaller projects (less than 50 tons) in-house.
• Import orders into our Electronic Operating System and coordinate fabrication and delivery requirements based on approved rebar shop drawings.
• Review and highlight cost-saving opportunities by familiarizing yourself with project-specific contract documentation.
• Analyze, cost, order, and coordinate cost-saving opportunities with the Operations Department.
• Provide excellent customer service to facilitate the Project Management role daily.
• Prepare and cost small estimates for smaller projects and supply project weights/requirements to the Sales department for quote preparation.
• Coordinate and control costs of specialized vendor products, including checking and approval of associated vendor invoices.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of detailing experience using industry-standard programs such as AutoCAD and RebarCAD.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in rebar Project Management (preferred).
• Familiarity with ACI 318 concrete reinforcing standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous personnel management experience (advantageous but not required).
• Ability to recognize and provide solutions to customer-related construction issues in the field using accepted industry-based products.
• Experience with programs such as On-Screen Takeoff, Excel, I SqFt, or similar (preferred).
• Sound knowledge of basic mathematical principles.
• Experience with lump-sum job reconciliations and dispute resolution.

Pay

Salary range starts at $100,000+. Actual salary will be based on relevant internal and external experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location, or other factors permitted by law.
