Realty Specialist (Site Acquisition) - Public Buildings Service
About the role
As a Realty Specialist, you will perform the full range of acquisition, assignment, and utilization work for realty projects, national policy, national program support including but not limited to site and real property acquisition and relocation.
Responsibilities
- Acquires sites, buildings, easements and other rights; grants and administers permits/licenses in conjunction with real property acquisition or Federal projects.
- Executes administration of relocation benefits under the Uniform Relocation Act.
- Serves as a project team’s Site Investigation Team leader or member, providing organization, planning, management and leadership of interdisciplinary teams for the purpose of investigating and selecting sites.
- Develops and coordinates scopes of work and requisitions for real property appraisals, land surveys, environmental studies, title evidence, and other reports pertinent to the decision-making process for acquisition of real property.
- Provides real estate expertise nationally as an advisor to staff throughout the agency, including senior level managers.

Qualifications
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience in all aspects of real property acquisition and related disciplines to ensure consistent, efficient, and predictable execution of site selection, and relocation projects. Such experience must demonstrate application of realty related laws (especially the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Act of 1970), regulations, principles, practices and experience negotiating offers to acquire real property for new construction and relocation; and experience presenting sensitive recommendations to senior officials.
Skills
The GS-13 salary range starts at $108,173 per year per year depending on location. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
