Duties

  • Supervise a staff of real property appraisers or independently perform real property appraisal activities.
  • Review and analyze appraisal reports.
  • Provide appropriate valuations in difficult situations, such as property size extremes, complex situations, lack of comparable data, and multiple valuation methods for the same parcel.
  • Recommend third-party appraisers and review their appraisal reports.
  • Traverse uneven ground, hike in undeveloped areas, and work in inclement weather conditions during site inspections.
  • Work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
  • Travel overnight to inspect properties, attend training conferences, etc.

Requirements

  • Legal Authorization to Work in the US.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of progressively responsible experience in real property appraising.
  • Supervisory aptitude.
  • Valid State of Hawaii certification as a Certified General Appraiser (CGA).
  • Valid driver's license.
