Based out of our Buffalo, NY office, this role supports attorneys with the real estate transaction process for successful closings through legal research, document preparation, case management, and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, review, and summarize commercial real estate documents.
- Assist with closing commercial real estate transactions and case preparation by gathering information, preparing discovery documents, and drafting legal pleadings.
- Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and requirements.
- Manage case files, including organizing materials, maintaining client records, and tracking deadlines.
- Prepare and file court documents and correspondence.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and schedule meetings while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Prepare and file documents with courts and other government agencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Uphold the firm’s reputation by delivering superior outcomes, service, and value to every client and matter.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including additional responsibilities specific to your assigned practice group.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Relevant Paralegal certification (e.g., ACEBS) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal or in a legal support role.
- Work experience as a practicing paralegal in a relevant practice area is preferred.
