Real Estate Finance Counsel
Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial real estate finance documents, loan agreements, mortgage-backed securities contracts, and lease financing agreements.
- Providing legal guidance on CMBS transactions, FHA and HUD regulatory compliance, and property-level due diligence.
- Collaborating with internal legal, finance, and risk teams, as well as external counsel and financial institutions, on real estate finance and joint venture transactions.
- Managing real estate finance, regulatory, and transactional legal issues for clients in commercial property, investment, and development sectors.
- Staying ahead of industry trends, FHA/HUD regulations, and market developments to provide proactive counsel.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance or structured real estate transactions.
- Strong knowledge of CMBS, mortgage-backed securities, FHA/HUD regulations, LTV analysis, and lease financing structures.
- Proven track record of advising clients on commercial real estate finance transactions, joint ventures, and compliance matters.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving skills.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and licensed to practice law in an applicable jurisdiction.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with property-level due diligence, international or cross-border real estate transactions, and structured finance matters.
- Familiarity with real estate investment trusts (REITs) or capital markets transactions.
Pay
The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year and for non-attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
