Responsibilities
- Aid in representing lenders, developers, and investors in complex real estate finance transactions, including construction and permanent loans and loans involving affordable housing / community development projects, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs), tax-exempt bonds and other public financing structures.
- Support on other commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and development projects, and leasing matters.
- Draft and negotiate loan and other transaction documents, review transaction structures, and support closing processes.
- Conduct and manage customary real estate and finance due diligence, including title and survey analysis and review of organizational due diligence materials.
- Coordinate among lenders, developers, investors, public agencies, and others on various due diligence, documentation, and closing matters.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and team members across offices on complex real estate and financing matters.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice in Washington State.
- Minimum 2+ years of real estate transactional experience.
- Experience representing lenders, borrowers, or developers in commercial real estate financing transactions.
- Experience or interest in affordable housing finance, LIHTC transactions, tax-exempt bond financing, or public-private development projects.
- Experience conducting customary real estate and finance due diligence, including title and survey review.
- Experience assisting with loan closings, financing documentation, and transaction coordination.
- Prior law firm experience and commitment to working in a collaborative law firm environment.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments while working both independently and collaboratively.
