Real Estate Finance and Operations - Investment Management - Analyst
About the role
Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (“MSREI”) is the global private real estate investment management business of Morgan Stanley. MSREI manages the North Haven Real Estate Funds (“NHREF”), which are closed-end private equity funds that acquire value-add / opportunistic real estate and real estate-related assets globally.
Responsibilities
- Prepare/coordinate fund-level quarterly reports in collaboration with internal stakeholders and the fund administrator
- Aid in the review of fund-level financial statements and partner capital statements, including investor reporting templates
- Support the roll-forward of fund models for each fund, verifying the accuracy of financial data, including historical and projected cash flows, investor contributions and distributions
- Aid in the review of management fee and carried interest calculations in accordance with fund governing documents
- Aid in the review of investor capital call and distribution notices, including the accuracy of the investor allocations
- Prepare draft responses to investor inquiries and requests, coordinating feedback and approvals from senior management and Legal
- Aid in the review of quarterly fund-level track record prepared by the fund administrator
- Support the preparation of the annual Investor and bi-annual Advisory Committee materials
- Support the preparation of the presentation for the quarterly internal working group meetings
- Aid in the review of ad-hoc analysis and management reports, as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited university, with demonstrated academic excellence
- Up to one year of relevant experience, including internships in audit and advisory, fund administration, asset management, private equity, real estate, or financial operations
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to leverage AI-powered tools to improve productivity, enhance analysis, and support reporting and operational processes
Benefits
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Pay
Base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
