About the Role

Larson Maddox is partnered with a leading global real estate owner, developer, and operator seeking a Director, Real Estate Counsel to join its transactional legal team. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in high-profile industrial, infrastructure, and data center development projects while partnering closely with business leaders on strategic growth initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a business-minded attorney with significant experience leading sophisticated real estate transactions, development projects, and complex commercial negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and negotiate complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, ground leases, and development projects.
  • Structure and support large-scale industrial and data center developments.
  • Negotiate development agreements, construction contracts, and project-related commercial agreements.
  • Advise on financing transactions, including construction loans, debt and equity financings, and forward-funding structures.
  • Provide strategic guidance on title, survey, environmental, zoning, and development-related matters.
  • Negotiate easements, licenses, cost-sharing agreements, and other ancillary project documents.
  • Manage outside counsel and legal due diligence efforts.
  • Handle real estate-related disputes, including title, condemnation, construction, and environmental matters.
  • Partner with development, finance, construction, and executive leadership teams to support business objectives.

Qualifications

  • J.D. and active bar membership.
  • Significant commercial real estate transactional experience gained at a law firm or in-house.
  • Strong experience with acquisitions, dispositions, development, construction, and financing matters.
  • Proven ability to independently lead complex transactions from inception through closing.
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and business judgment skills.

Preferred

  • Data center, infrastructure, or large-scale development experience.
  • Experience with sophisticated financing structures and major development projects.
