Real Estate Associate - Wilmington, DE
About the role
The ideal candidate will have three to five years of commercial real estate transactional experience and an interest in working across the full lifecycle of real estate assets—from acquisition and financing through structuring joint ventures, construction, leasing, title, and disposition. Experience supporting developers, owners, and real estate private equity funds is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Handle a broad range of real estate transactional matters, including purchase/sale transactions, leasing, financing, closing documents, title review, due diligence, and development documentation.
- Familiarity with transactions involving diverse asset classes—such as hospitality, multifamily, office, retail, industrial, healthcare, self-storage, or renewable energy properties—is strongly preferred.
- Support clients at various stages of the real estate asset lifecycle or assist with real estate private equity fund matters (e.g., fund formation, mezzanine or equity investments, acquisitions, or dispositions).
- Experience in sophisticated real estate transactions preferred; land use experience helpful but not required.
- Manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate initiative, eagerness to learn, and a long-term interest in contributing to the growth of the practice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
- Must be licensed to practice in the State of Delaware.
- Excellent academic record and strong writing skills required.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Physical Requirements: Sedentary work, sitting most of the time, walking and standing is often necessary.
Skills
- Familiarity with diverse asset classes.
- Experience in sophisticated real estate transactions.
- Experience supporting developers, owners, and real estate private equity funds.
- Environmental experience is a plus.
