About the role
At Sherwin-Williams, this role is responsible for managing real estate transactions, providing analytical reports, and assisting with the Real Estate Committee. The position also involves property management, travel, and representing the company at trade associations.
Responsibilities
- Understanding legal lease language and changes in the real estate legal landscape
- Providing analytical reporting for the Real Estate department and Division
- Handling packages for Real Estate Committee meetings
- Answering calls from landlords regarding real estate accounting questions
- Interpreting lease language for field employees
- Negotiating lease extensions, renewals, rent reductions, and terminations
- Renewing leases at the lowest possible rent while maintaining long-term lease control
- Managing lease renewals and extensions for outside tenants
- Performing property management tasks for company-owned facilities
- Traveling up to 10% for projects and site visits
- Negotiating lease documents with an in-house attorney
- Representing Sherwin-Williams at various trade association functions and educational seminars
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience in commercial real estate, preferably with emphasis in retail or industrial applications
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating lease agreements, renewals, and identifying locations for new retail and commercial stores
- Expertise in real estate document preparation, negotiation skills, construction, signage, and economics
