Real Estate Acquisition Agent - Chicago
Cedar Brook Property, a sponsored real estate investment company and subsidiary of Bayview Asset Management, is seeking a motivated Real Estate Acquisitions Agent in the Chicago, IL area.
About the role
As the primary point of contact for clients looking to sell their properties, you will engage with motivated sellers, utilizing strong sales and negotiation skills to deliver outstanding results. This highly entrepreneurial role offers clear goals and performance incentives.
The base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000 with commission. Last year, top-performing acquisition managers exceeded $125,000 in total compensation.
The work environment follows a hybrid model, combining remote work with on-site visits to potential acquisition locations.
Responsibilities
- Build rapport and establish trust with home sellers, providing superior client service by understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Be directly involved in purchasing homes, making offers based on market trends, and overseeing the transaction process.
- Actively cultivate relationships with sellers and your local real estate network; manage leads and follow up to close deals effectively.
- Use strong negotiation skills to create win-win deals and close transactions promptly.
- Work seamlessly with title, legal, construction, and operations teams; manage and collaborate with junior team members.
- Travel to properties to conduct assessments and meet with clients for in-depth discussions on property values, repairs, and offers.
Qualifications
- 4-10 years of experience in sales or business development.
- Must possess a real estate license or demonstrate willingness and ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
- Self-motivated with a competitive, results-driven mentality and the ability to meet clear goals.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and listening skills; ability to build rapport and close deals effectively.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
- Take ownership of your work and results; demonstrate a high level of integrity in all transactions.
- Proficient with CRM software to track leads and manage client interactions; comfortable using digital tools for communication and organization.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet clients at their convenience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Travel: 10% or as necessary to visit properties and conduct site assessments.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands to handle objects/tools, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May encounter environmental conditions such as low/high temperatures, precipitation, and wind.
- May occasionally work in small or enclosed spaces.
