Ready Mix Driver

Responsibilities

• Climbs on and off truck body during loading, unloading, and tie-down procedures
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations (including I.C.C. Regulations)
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water
• Completes pre-trip and post-trip truck inspection reports
• Servicess and lubricates engine and other moving parts if needed
• Maintains accurate records on truck lubrication, service, and repairs
• Follows truck maintenance schedule
• Works harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times
• Follows directions and instructions from supervisors
• Performs a variety of tasks and duties that may change often as the work conditions require
• Works within defined standards of accuracy
• Works in a variety of weather conditions, including temperatures over 85 degrees and below 40 degrees
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Sit, stand, and walk for a long period
• Must meet all Federal DOT Requirements
• Valid CDL with Class B or A
• Air Brake Endorsement
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission trucks
• Ability to use arms and hand to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
• Ability to perform frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted
• Must be able to see and hear well (naturally or with correction)
• Ability to travel in Oklahoma and work overtime, as requested

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of concrete slump and placement practices
