About the Role
The Ready-Mix Driver transports freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to job sites safely, makes normal operating adjustments to equipment, and delivers excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites
- Operate a multi-axle mixer truck safely, obeying all traffic laws
- Clean and wash vehicle, including removal of concrete buildup on all exterior parts of the mixer
- Work according to customer demands
- Operate a radio to communicate with company personnel
- Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, state, and federal regulations
- Report all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur
- Attend safety meetings as scheduled by management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Commercial Class A or B driver’s license with airbrakes and tank endorsement
- Safe driving record (DMV H-6 printout required):
- No serious moving violations within the past 36 months
- No more than two moving violations within the past 24 months
- Current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate
- Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions
- Familiarity with slumps
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather
- Physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit, and shift gears
- Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and nights
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries
- 2+ years of commercial driving experience

Pay
- $25/hour during probationary period
- $35–$40/hour post-probationary period
Conditions of Employment
- Post-offer pre-employment physical examination and drug/alcohol screen
- Background check
- Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance and ongoing alcohol and drug testing
