Reading Specialist - 195 Day

Job Summary

This position develops and supports the implementation of an evidence-based literacy program and provides related educational support for teachers and students that are aligned to evidence-based reading research. This position usually performs duties within a team or departmental setting but might work independently in a unique teaching specialty. This position performs work under the general supervision of a principal and/or other designated administrator.

• Develops and implements evidence-based literacy programs aligned with reading research
• Provides professional development and support to teachers on evidence-based reading strategies
• Supports students in developing literacy skills through various instructional methods
• Maintains current knowledge of evidence-based reading research and practices
• Works collaboratively with other educators and administrators to enhance literacy initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Literacy, or a related field
• Experience in implementing evidence-based literacy programs
• Strong understanding of evidence-based reading research
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Literacy, or a related field preferred
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Knowledge of state and federal education standards
