About the role
Adjusts approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions or patient issues. Prioritizes clinical and administrative work independently and identify process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Aids physicians in performing specialized cardiovascular procedures, including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation, and electrophysiology studies.
- Evaluates and documents patient status, responding appropriately to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Demonstrates clinical expertise, competence, and proficiency in all job responsibilities.
- Commits to continuous learning and shares knowledge with patients and co-workers.
- Participates in performance improvement activities to evaluate and enhance care outcomes.
- Uses evidence-based practices to monitor and improve care according to regulatory and practice standards.
- Operates equipment, manages time, and utilizes personnel and supplies effectively to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Adapts to changing workloads, patient needs, technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing through priority setting and flexibility.
- Maintains high skill levels through participation in continuous quality improvement, in-services, ongoing education, and attendance at staff meetings.
- Recognizes and acts upon unusual patient results or responses by informing the primary healthcare team to ensure patient safety.

- Bachelor's, Technical/Vocational School (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement, Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
- Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Registered Technologist - Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (R.T(CI)(ARRT)) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
