Raw Materials Handler

About the Role

We are seeking a Raw Materials Handler responsible for performing daily Shipping, Receiving, Delivery, and Inventory activities. This position also supports all aspects of production operations. Responsibilities

• Perform Shipping, Receiving, Delivery, and Inventory daily departmental activities following all applicable SP’s, QAP’s, and procedures.
• Load and unload trucks using fork trucks, pallet jacks, and/or hand trucks according to safety regulations.
• Unpack crates and boxes, check items for accuracy and damage, and document accordingly.
• Place receipts "on-hold" if parts are incorrect, defective, or paperwork is incomplete, and follow up with the appropriate LMI plant or vendor to correct.
• Accurately process all system transactions related to Shipping, Receiving, and bin transferring.
• Assist with production operations as needed, including roll-forming skin panels.
• Maintain Shipping and Receiving files and assist with receipt of customer returns per QAP/SP.
• Monitor and revise the weekly I50 report.
• Perform Lean and 6S functions.
• Assist in investigating and determining the root cause of errors/issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Drive a delivery truck as needed throughout the day to and from customer sites, collecting and tracking all paperwork, and ensuring on-time deliveries while following safety and quality standards.
• Participate in ergonomic exercises.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred; candidates without this may be required to take a pre-employment assessment.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to complete all job duties and interact professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and others in a manner consistent with Sonaca values.
• Ability to acquire a Sonaca Forklift License and hold a current valid driver’s license with no major traffic violations within the previous three years.
• Excellent background check and ability to be issued security clearance for customer delivery sites (including GAC access badge for on-site delivery).
• Working knowledge of database software, internet software, spreadsheet software, and Outlook; AS400 is a plus.
• Ability to perform various production and material handling tasks requiring physical strength and dexterity.
• Ability to read and interpret basic work order instructions and drawings to produce and assemble kits accurately.
• Ability to operate fork trucks, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Excellent organizational skills and the discipline to maintain organizational systems and keep work areas neat.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact courteously and professionally with all stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and frequent periods of high stress.

Travel

Yes, 10% local travel required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Exposure to noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor, including eye, ear, and foot protection.
• May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds.
